Wanted Kidnapping Suspect Of 7-Year-Old Girl In Dallas Now In Custody

A man wanted in the kidnapping of a 7-year-old girl is now in custody after a witness spotted him at a bus stop in southern Dallas. The man is allegedly responsible for triggering an Amber Alert back in July shortly after the girl went missing.

According to WFAA, Lamar Neal, 42, reportedly approached the 7-year-old and her 9-year-old brother offering them to ride in his car.

Neal is said to have made a stop at the store where the 9-year-old boy got out and walked towards the inside and tells sources that Neal then drove off with the girl still inside the car. Shortly after, the young boy was found wandering in the parking lot of the store crying, when a woman pulled him to the side to help him. After telling the woman his sister had been kidnapped, the amber alert went out.

The amber alert was reportedly issued around 7pm that day and the 7-year-old girl was found later that night around 12am wandering near her family’s apartment complex. The young girl was taken to the hospital to be checked, but no further details on her condition have been released.

Just a month after the incident took place, multiple law enforcement agencies reportedly visited Neal’s mother’s home after receiving tips that he was there. Neal’s mother reportedly denied him being in the house but said she’d been hearing noises upstairs.

This is where it gets crazy y’all. Neal is said to have escaped the home to a wooded area while police were talking to his mother. Police then searched the area and located him at the bus stop where he then slashed his throat with a box cutter in an attempt to kill himself before being detained.

Neal is currently in critical condition but according to WFAA, he is expected to survive his injuries.
